Virgin Australia tops Qantas for punctuality in January

Read More » The monthly report from the Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics showed 77.1% of VA domestic services landed within 15 minutes of schedule in January, compared with Qantas’s 72.3%. VA also had a higher percentage of on-time departures at 78% versus 71.6% from Qantas, while its cancellation rate of 0.8% was two percentage points better than Qantas’s 2.8%. VA said its cancellation rate in December (0.6%) and January were the airline’s best in the past two years. “A range of measures, including additional aircraft on standby and more team members rostered on reserve, have helped us manage inevitable disruption as it arises,” VA chief operations officer, Stuart Aggs, said. “This minimises the impact on our schedule and our guests’ travel plans.”
