Read More » In 2024, Taiwanese visitors to Finland more than doubled compared with 2023, exceeding 31,000 travelers. Helsinki also is a gateway to the NB8 region (the Nordic and Baltic countries). For Northern European travelers Taipei could become the transit hub to the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand. Once Russian airspace is reopened, the introduction of non-stop flights between Taipei and Helsinki will shorten travel time to approximately 10 hours making it the fastest Taiwan-EU route. “Given the rapid growth in Taiwanese travel to Finland and the Nordics and the strategic benefits of a direct Taipei-Helsinki connection, I have no doubt this route will be a highly successful one. The ability to operate a full turnaround within 24 hours makes it an attractive option for airlines, while passengers will benefit from the fastest connection between Taiwan and Europe,” Finland Trade Center deputy representative in Taiwan. Jere Tala, told Orient Aviation Daily Digest.
