SpiceJet reports US$2.3 million quarterly profit

SpiceJet has posted a net profit of 214.3 million rupee (US$2.3 million) for the three months to December 31 compared with a 3 billion rupee net loss in the matching quarter a year ago. SpiceJet chief business officer, Debojo Maharshi, said the carrier is forecasting double digit growth in revenue per available seat kilometre (RASK) by the close of first quarter 2025 due to strong demand and effective network optimization. SpiceJet chair and managing director, Ajay Singh, said the airline was “net worth positive” for the first time in a decade, which reflected the success of the airline’s turnaround strategy. “The past is behind us. We are firmly focused on building a stronger, more resilient future for SpiceJet,” Singh said.
