Korean Air CEO cautions “cultural integration” with Asiana Airlines will take time

Korean Air (KAL) chair and CEO, Walter Cho, has told staff the union with Asiana Airlines is being undertaken with a gradual, employee-focused approach. Read More » Cho made the comments at a company event celebrating KAL’s 56-year anniversary and the launch of “KE Way”, its new corporate value system. “Cultural integration takes time and cannot be rushed,” Cho said. “We recognize challenges may arise and will proceed thoughtfully, ensuring we respect the values and sentiments of employees from both airlines.” KAL finalized its purchase of 63.88% of former rival, Asiana Airlines, last December. The SkyTeam alliance member new corporate identity will be unveiled on March 11.
