Batik Air Malaysia CEO, Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy, has reiterated his airline’s strong backing for the expansion of downtown Kuala Lumpur Subang Airport as a regional hub. Read More » It also has called on Malaysia’s regulator to speed up the allocation of additional slots at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport. “Facilitating this process will enhance connectivity, introduce more services efficiently and contribute to Subang Airport’s development,” Datuk Chandran said. The Lion Air Group carrier’s public support for Subang follows the recent decision of Malaysia AirAsia to withdraw its operations at the airport. “Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport holds immense potential as a modern city airport and Batik Air is fully committed to its transformation,” Datuk Chandran said. “Our expanded presence will offer travellers greater choice and convenience while reinforcing Malaysia’s position as a key aviation hub in the region.”
