China Eastern Airlines records 1% passenger increase in February

China Eastern Airlines (CEA) passenger numbers were up 0.9%, to 12 million, last month compared with 11.9 million customers a year ago. However, the airline’s domestic network reported a decrease of 1.3% in air travellers, to 14.8 million, and its regional travellers declined 8.5% to 386,610. Capacity at the Shanghai-headquartered airline was 1% higher year-on-year. The airline expanded international capacity 18.8% in the month and reduced domestic and regional capacity by 5.3% and 11.9%, respectively. Overall passenger load factor was 1.7 percentage points higher at 85.1%.
