India’s airlines booked double digit domestic air traffic growth in February

Airlines across India flew 14 million domestic passengers last month up 11% from the 12.6 million air travellers they transported in the same month a year ago. Read More » Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA) data shows LCC IndiGo held on to the number one spot as the country’s dominant domestic carrier with 8.9 million passengers, or 63.7% of the local market. Air India was runner up with 3.8 million passengers (27.3% market share) and Akasa Air came in third at 659,000 customers (4.7% market share). Akasa Air’s domestic passenger load factor topped all of India’s airlines at 95.1%, followed by IndiGo (91.7%) and SpiceJet (91.2%).
