Virgin Australia delivered 82.9% on time performance in February

Virgin Australia (VA) achieved its best on-time performance (OTP) in two years last month when 82.9% of its domestic flights departed within 15 minutes of schedule. Read More » The airline also had the lowest cancellation rate of all airlines in Australia, at 1.5%, said Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics (BITRE). “I’m thrilled to share Virgin Australia has achieved its third consecutive month of industry leading reliability,” VA CEO, Dave Emerson, said. “This performance outpaced other major Australian carriers, earning us the lowest cancellation rate and highest On time performance while operating the largest number of average daily flights of any airline in the month. Huge congratulations to our entire team on this wonderful milestone.” Emerson expects the March data to be impacted by ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred, which battered southern Queensland and northern New South Wales during the reported period.
