Search for missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 postponed to year-end

A fresh search for Malaysia Airlines 777-200ER, which disappeared en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing more than 11 years ago, has been cut short because of weather conditions in the Indian Ocean. Read More » The latest attempt to locate the aircraft commenced late last week, following the signing of a contract between the Malaysian government and Ocean Infinity, but the search was called off a few days later and reset to commence at year-end. Malaysia’s transport minister, Anthony Loke Siew Fook, told media that under the terms of the no win, no fee contract, Ocean Infinity is in line to receive US$70 million if it successfully locates the 777-200ER, registration 9M-MRO, that went missing on March 8, 2014. Ocean Infinity previously attempted to locate MH370 in 2018.
