China Eastern Airlines flew 11.7 million passengers in March

China Eastern Airlines (CEA) passenger numbers improved 6.6% to 11.7 million last month compared with 11 million air travellers a year ago. Read More » The SkyTeam alliance member’s international passengers flown in March increased by 29% to 1.6 million while its domestic air traveller numbers for the month expanded at a more modest pace of 3.4% to 13.8 million. CEA’s regional passengers transported rose 4.1% to 417,860. Capacity at the Shanghai-headquartered airline was 6.7% higher year-on-year with international capacity expanded by 28.4% in the 31 days and domestic and regional capacity reduced by 1.4% and 6.1%, respectively. Overall March passenger load factor was 2.9 percentage points higher at 84.2%, CEA said.
