Boeing confirms China’s airlines not accepting its ordered aircraft

Read More » The U.S. OEM had scheduled at least 50 aircraft to be accepted by Mainland carriers this year, he said. The company would not “wait too long” to send the jets to customers elsewhere in the world, he added. “I am not going to let this derail the recovery of our company so we will offer customers an opportunity if they want to take the airplanes. That is what we prefer to do. But if not, we are going to re-market these airplanes,” Ortberg said. During a call with analysts on April 23, Boeing CFO, Brian West, said: “Customers are calling, asking for additional airplanes.” Industry sources, quoted by Reuters, said the comments were interpreted as a message to Beijing. In the same call, Ortberg said Boeing’s engagement with the White House on trade has been “very dynamic.” “I can’t predict the course of trade talks. We do hear signs that indicate there will be negotiated settlements. I just don’t know the timing,” he said. “The priority is to make sure we don’t see more countries in a similar boat as we are with China.”
