Indonesia’s TransNusa Airlines has inaugurated one stop Manado-Shanghai following the start of C909 flights between Manado and Guangzhou late in 2024. Operation of TransNusa C909 international flights are closely tied to its Chinese ownership, Yicai Global reports, after China Aircraft Leasing Co. (CALC) took control of the airline in 2020. TransNusa, which has three C909s, has ordered 30 C909 jets and is introducing the China-manufactured regional aircraft to global markets. In late March, COMAC increased its international footprint with the delivery of a C909 to Lao Airlines. In April, Vietjet started flying Hanoi-Con Dao and Ho Chi Minh-Con Dao with two of the type that have been leased from Chengdu Airlines. The C909 flies 15 routes across Southeast Asia and has transported more than 250,000 passengers at April 30, COMAC said.
