Alaska Airlines launches long-haul to Tokyo from Seattle

Read More » The inaugural service, operated by Hawaiian Airlines A330-200 registration N384HA, took off from Seattle at about 1330 local time on May 12. By 2030, the airline is planning to operate to12 international long-haul destinations from Seattle. Next up is Seattle-Seoul Incheon planned to be launched in September. “Our growing fleet of wide-body aircraft, which includes the flagship 787 Dreamliner, unleashes a world of possibilities that we can fly from Seattle,” Alaska Air Group CEO, Ben Minicucci, said. “We will have exciting additional milestones as we share the new international routes we will launch, including destinations in Europe.” Hawaiian Airlines CEO, Joe Sprague, said: “Hawaiian has been serving the Tokyo market for nearly 15 years. We are thrilled to open this global gateway with Alaska, offering more Pacific Northwest travellers the award-winning hospitality of Hawaiian.” Alaska Air’s Hawaiian A330 fleet is to have a cabin refresh “in the coming years”, with details to be announced next year, the airline said.
