United Airlines to debut new business class seat on Singapore and London routes

United Airlines (UA) has unveiled a new business class seat and an upgraded premium cabin offering for all of its 787-9s: eight business class studios, 56 business class, 35 premium economy and 123 economy seats. Read More » The retrofitted cabin compares with the airline’s existing 787-9 layout of 48 business, 39 premium economy and 149 economy seats. The Star Alliance member is scheduled to accept the first of the reconfigured wide-bodies by year-end and to commence flying the upgraded twin-aisles from San Francisco to Singapore and London in 2026. UA plans to have 30 787-9s operating with the new product by 2027. “These innovations provide a more premium experience overall, give customers more reasons to choose United and set up our airline for growth into the next decade and beyond,” UA chief commercial officer, Andrew Nocella, said.
