Air China books 17% international passenger traffic growth in April

Air China Group flew 12.8 million passengers, including 1.5 million international air travellers, in its latest month. Read More » The flag carrier reported an 8.6% increase in revenue passenger kilometres, a capacity up tick of 3% and an average passenger load factor of 81.3% for the 30 days. International passengers carried increased 15% year-on-year and were 3.8% higher than the previous month, the airline said. International capacity surged by 17.2%, and load factor was lower by 1% at 76.2%, it added. The airline introduced a C909 to its fleet and retired a business jet during the month. At April 30, the Beijing-headquartered carrier was operating 411 self-owned airliners, 228 aircraft under finance lease and 295 jets with operating leases.
