Read More » According to two people familiar with the matter, the suspension is retaliation for China’s recent restriction on exports of critical minerals to the U.S. The U.S. Commerce Department told Reuters in a statement it was reviewing exports of strategic significance to China. “In some cases, Commerce has suspended existing export licenses or imposed additional license requirements while the review is pending,” it said. Three Reuters sources confirmed aviation equipment is among the sectors affected. “China firmly opposes the U.S.’s overstretching the concept of national security, abusing export controls and maliciously blocking and suppressing China,” a spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Washington told Reuters.
