Air New Zealand’s flags arrival of first two A321neos

Air New Zealand (Air NZ) has flagged the arrival of two new A321neos configured to operate international routes this month. Read More » The first, registration ZK-NNH was due to touch down in Auckland at 1845 local time today (Wednesday 4 June), following its ferry flight from Hamburg via Muscat, Kuala Lumpur and Cairns. The second was expected to join the fleet later this month. Air NZ’s internationally configured A321neos have 214 seats in a single-class layout and operate flights to Australia and the Pacific Islands. Following the arrival of these two aircraft, Air NZ will have nine A321neos flying on international routes. “These new A321neo are a clear sign we’re investing for the future – boosting our international network and delivering more choice for customers,” Air NZ chief commercial officer, Jeremy O’Brien, said. “It’s about doing what we do best: connecting Kiwi to the world and bringing visitors to our shores.”

In other Air NZ news, the airline is starting a second nonstop route to Adelaide, with a new twice weekly Christchurch-Adelaide service to operate seasonally from October 27 this year to March 27 2026. Air NZ already serves Adelaide in South Australia from its Auckland hub.

Finally, has added 36,000 seats on its domestic network between June 28 and October 25 by boosting frequencies and upgauging some routes to larger aircraft.
