Cathay Pacific grows European network to 12 destinations with return to Rome

Cathay Pacific has resumed nonstop flights to Rome from its Hong Kong hub. Read More » The first flight since the route five years after the route was suspended in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic took off from Hong Kong bound for the Eternal City late last week, when A350-900 registration B-LQG operated the CX293 on June 5. The oneworld alliance member has scheduled three flights a week to Rome, its second destination in Italy alongside existing service to Milan and the 12th European city in its international network. “Rome has long been an important destination for Cathay Pacific and a popular one among our customers,” Cathay chief customer and commercial officer, Lavinia Lau, said. “In total, we will be operating close to 100 return flights per week to 12 European destinations, providing our customers with even greater connectivity between Hong Kong and this important region.” Cathay is the only airline offering nonstop flights between Rome and Hong Kong.
