Closure of Pakistan’s airspace made necessary by the Iran-Israel conflict has inflicted another blow on India’s airlines, Skift reports. Read More » In a travel advisory, Air India said “due to the emerging situation in Iran and parts of the Middle East, the subsequent closure of airspace and in view of the safety of our passengers, some of our flights are operating on alternative extended routes.” IndiGo warns “the airspace closure over Iran and nearby regions could impact some routes potentially causing longer travel times or cancellations”. It advised passengers to check the status of their flights before departing for the airport. Earlier this week, SpiceJet said “the airline was experiencing massive air traffic control congestion at Dubai due to the airspace closure over Iran and the unavailability of Muscat airspace. “All departures, arrivals and their consequential flights might be affected,” it said.
