AirAsia is in talks with Airbus to buy 50 to 70 A321XLRs while continuing to prioritize the LCC group’s restructuring, Capital A CEO, Tony Fernandes, said. Read More » AirAsia also is considering the acquisition of 100 A220s or Embraer E2s, Reuters reports from Paris. “I don’t think there will be an order at this air show. We are still doing a lot of work with Airbus and other manufacturers. I think we will look to do something imminently, in the next one to three months. We want to make sure we clear out of our restructuring. The great thing is, we are back in the growth stage,” Fernandes told Reuters. He added AirAsia is speaking to China’s COMAC about a potential order of the C919. “We received an offer from COMAC. The geopolitics don’t help. We need to be confident it is going to be OK, but it is a good aircraft and we will certainly look at it.”
