Hong Kong Airlines lands in Sydney

Read More » The airline’s inaugural HX17 service, operated by A330-300 registration B-LHL, touched down in Sydney a little after 0930 local time on June 21 following a nine-hour flight. The A330-300, configured with 32 business and 260 economy seats, was on the ground for three hours before operating reciprocal HX18 to Hong Kong. Daily Sydney is the carrier’s second destination in Australia alongside seasonal flights to Queensland’s Gold Coast. “As a full-service local carrier, the launch of our Sydney service marks a significant step in our transformation from a regional to an international airline,” Hong Kong Airlines president, Jeff Sun, said. “The expansion of the bilateral traffic rights agreement allows us to offer more choice to travellers in both cities, strengthening the connection between them.” Hong Kong Airlines is the third airline flying Hong Kong-Sydney after Cathay Pacific, which has up to four flights a day, and daily Qantas Airways.
