Virgin Australia continues to best Qantas and Jetstar in on time performance

Virgin Australia (VA) reports 84.8% of its domestic flights arrived within 15 minutes of their schedules in May, the best on-time performance for the month among the country’s major carriers. Read More » It bettered Qantas Airways and Jetstar on-time arrivals of 82.5% and 81.5%, respectively, Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics (BITRE) said in its monthly report. VA also scored better than Qantas for on-time departures at 86.6% versus 83.2%. “We recognize we may not top the charts every month, but we always will remain laser focused on providing a safe, reliable flying experience for our guests,” VA CEO, Dave Emerson, said. “Thanks to the dedication of our incredible team we continue to raise the bar.” The best on-time performance for the reported period was recorded by regional carrier, Hinterland, with an on-time arrival rate of 88% and an on time departure record of 91.5%.
