Order bonanza ahead for Airbus during Malaysia prime minister’s visit to France?

At press time, it is being reported Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) and LCC AirAsia are to confirm orders for Airbus single and twin aisle jets when Malaysia’s prime minister, Anwar Ibrahim, is in France for a State Visit. Read More » Reuters predicted Airbus is close to signing an order from MAG for more A330neo. In June, MAG managing director, Izham Ismail, told the New Straits Times the group was evaluating its options for 20 A330neos to be followed by a competition between plane-makers for A350s, 787s or 777X. Separately Bloomberg News said European OEM could land a substantial order from AirAsia. The Malaysian LCC group is believed to be in advanced talks to acquire A321XLRs.
