Malaysia Airlines confirms order for 20 more A330-900s

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), the parent company of Malaysia Airlines (MAS), has committed to purchase 20 additional A330-900s (A330neo) with deliveries from 2029 to 2031. Read More » MAS has four A330-900s in its fleet from a previous order of 20 aircraft. The flag carrier is purchasing ten of the type from Airbus and leasing the remaining 10 from Avolon. This latest firm order increases A330-900s that MAG has on order to 40. "The A330neo continues to deliver the right balance of operational efficiency, range and cabin comfort to support our network and growth strategy," MAG managing director, Datuk Captain Izham Ismail, said. "This additional order reinforces our long-term vision of building a future-ready fleet that supports sustainable growth, delivers consistent value to our passengers and strengthens our competitiveness in key markets." Airbus executive vice president of commercial aircraft sales, Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, said: "We are proud to strengthen our relationship with Malaysia Aviation Group as it expands its A330neo fleet."
