Thai Airways International profit surged after share trading resumed

Thai Airways International (THAI) has reported a net profit of 22 billion baht (US$679 million) for the six months to June 30, more than eight times its net profit of 2.7 billion baht in the same months in 2024. The airline’s bottom line was boosted by one-off items including termination of aircraft leases and favourable foreign exchange movements. THAI’s shares resumed trading on the Stock Exchange of Thailand on August 4, following the completion of its rehabilitation plan. "THAI is strategically positioned for robust, stable and sustainable growth driven by a steadfast commitment to elevating operational standards and service quality coupled with a strong emphasis on corporate governance," the airline said.
