Batik Air Malaysia and UAE.-based loyalty company, ESSAD, will jointly promote Malaysia as a holiday destination.

China Eastern Airlines has pushed back an extraordinary general meeting by two days to August 29 "due to the need for coordination of work arrangements". The book closure period, which determines shareholder eligibility to vote at the meeting, also has been extended by two business days to August 27.

IndiGo has broken ground on an MRO shop at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru with operation of the facility scheduled for 2028.

Korean Air and U.S.-headquartered defence technology company, Anduril, will jointly develop and manufacture unmanned aircraft systems for South Korea and Asia-Pacific markets.

Sabre recorded a net loss of US$256.4 million for the three months to June 30 compared with net losses of US$69.8 million in the same months in 2024. Revenue was 1% lower, to US$687.1 million, the company. "Second quarter results reflect weaker than anticipated air distribution bookings as accelerating volumes from our growth strategies were offset by a challenging operating environment," Sabre CEO, Kurt Ekert, said. The company has cut its full-year outlook.

Spirit AeroSystems will sell its engineering and manufacturing facility at Kuala Lumpur’s Subang Airport to Composites Technology Research Malaysia for US$95.2 million. "This transaction was entered into following the previously announced merger agreement with Boeing and subsequent definitive agreement with Airbus," Spirit said, with completion of the deal scheduled by year-end.

Separately, the U.K. Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has approved Boeing’s US$4.7 billion takeover of Spirit. "The CMA has cleared the anticipated acquisition by The Boeing Company of Spirit Aerosystems Holdings Inc.," the authority said. "The full text of the decision will be published shortly."
