"The new direct route marks a pivotal milestone in the Shenzhen Airlines global strategy of being a vital air bridge deepening ties between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Victoria," Shenzhen Airlines said. No airline operates nonstop Shenzhen-Melbourne at present. "This announcement is a significant milestone in Melbourne Airport’s international growth story as we continue to bring competition and choice to the market for our passengers," Melbourne Airport chief of aviation, Jim Parashos, said. Victoria’s government has supported the establishment of the route.
