Shenzhen Airport completes live flight verification of the third runway

On August 26 crew of a Boeing 737 aircraft operated by Shenzhen Airlines successfully completed the live flight verification of the Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport’s third runway. Read More » The tests focused on 10 core items, including PBN (performance-based navigation), conventional arrival and departure procedures, RNP APCH (required navigation performance approaches), and ILS/DME instrument approach procedures, thoroughly examining the operational effectiveness of the third runway’s flight procedures. The crew and support teams also conducted systematic evaluations of obstacle clearance, communication, navigation and surveillance equipment, airfield lighting, runway and taxiway systems, and overall ground-support capabilities, the local media reported, adding all checks and flight parameters met industry standards. The live flight verification is an important step before industry acceptance and the entry of the third runway into service later this year.
