China Southern Airlines registered 16.9 million air passengers in August

China Southern Airlines (CSA) said passengers carried last month increased 4.9%, to 16.9 million from the 16.1 million air travellers a year ago. Read More » In the 31 days, domestic travellers flown by CSA were better by 11.1%, at 15.7 million, and international passenger numbers were higher by 12.4% (1.9 million). CSA regional air travellers declined 3.1% to 176,940 customers, China’s largest airline said. Passenger load factor dipped 0.3 of a percentage point, to 87% in the month and passenger capacity expanded 6.4%. At August 31, CSA had 950 aircraft, an increase of seven airliners from July 31. CSA added two A321neos, two A320neos, two 737 MAX 8s and one 787-9 to its fleet, but retired one A319, one A321, one A330-200 and two 737-800s. At month end, the CSA fleet stood at 952 aircraft.
