Read More » Strong demand for international travel underpinned the robust results, Airports Council International (ACI) World’s World Airport Traffic Report (WATR) said. Beyond the WATR headline numbers passenger traffic expansion was uneven across the world reflecting a mix of structural strengths, policy challenges and evolving travel patterns. "Emerging aviation markets such as Africa, the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Latin America are driving growth, supported by rising demand and the growing presence of low-cost carriers," ACI World said. "In contrast, advanced aviation markets, including parts of East Asia, Europe and North America, face a more uncertain outlook because of geopolitical tensions, demographic shifts such as ageing populations in some regions and changes in traveller behaviour brought about by uncertainty in travel and visa policies."
