Read More » The increase represents a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.6% over the next 20 years from the 3.5% CAGR in the OEM’s 2024-2043 GSF. There is a need for 2.35 million additional skilled workers in aviation - 705,000 new maintenance technicians, 633,000 new pilots and 1.01 million new cabin crew – to meet expected demand for air travel in the next two decades, the GFS said. The forecast highlights the need for the industry to "intensify efforts" to attract and train new workers. "By 2044, the Asia-Pacific, China and South Asia alone are projected to represent 45% of overall services demand driven by a rising middle class and increasing demand for connectivity," Airbus said. South Asia is projected to deliver the highest growth rate for the forecast period, at 8.8% CAGR, Airbus said.
