Air New Zealand to interline with Air Chathams

Air New Zealand (Air NZ) and Air Chathams have signed an interline agreement covering flights to or from Whakatāne on New Zealand’s North Island. Read More » In the initial phase of the agreement, Air NZ will sell tickets that include an Air Chathams-operated Auckland-Whakatāne segment with more regional connections under consideration. Passengers will be able to check luggage through to their final destinations and receive boarding passes for both flight segments. "This agreement gives us greater visibility through Air New Zealand’s sales channels, while ensuring our local customers enjoy a more connected travel experience," Air Chathams CEO, Duane Emeny, said. "This partnership is an important first step. We see real potential to build on it with further regional connections and continue to unlock opportunities for growth, employment and mobility across the country." Air NZ CEO, Nikhil Ravishankar, said: "By working together, we are making it easier for customers in more parts of the country to stay connected. This partnership lets us test a model that could strengthen connections for other regional communities in the future."
