South Korea updates “safety concern” list of airlines

Thai Airways International (THAI), Garuda Indonesia and Air Astana are among six airlines added to an aviation safety concern list by South Korea’s transportation ministry. Read More » The three other airlines were all from Thailand: Business Air, Jet Asia Airways and Thai AirAsia X.

Thailand’s new crop of long-haul low-cost carriers have been hit by new restrictions imposed on them by Japan and South Korea, after a June audit by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) reported “significant safety concerns” at Thailand’s carriers, which forced NokScoot to abandon new routes to Seoul, Osaka and Tokyo, and Thai AirAsia X to postpone the launch of Sapporo, among others.
