Singapore Airlines Group says demand for air travel resilient in October

Singapore Airlines Group (SIA) flew 3.6 million passengers last month, up 8.3% from the 3.3 million passengers it transported in the same month a year ago. Read More » At Singapore Airlines, passengers carried increased 4.9%, to 2.4 million, while the group’s LCC, Scoot, posted 15.4% growth in the reported month to 1.2 million travellers flown. SIA Group said revenue passenger kilometres increased 5.3% in the month, "supported by the resilient demand for air travel". SIA group’s passenger load factor increased by 1.3 percentage points year-on-year to 87.3%. The airline group’s cargo unit reported volumes fell 4.6% in the month, which SIA said was partly due to unplanned aircraft maintenance. Cargo capacity was up 0.3%. "On the cargo front, demand was softer across all route regions due to the impact of global trade tensions," SIA Group said.
