Qantas bests Jetstar and Virgin Australia for punctuality in October

Read More » The oneworld alliance member was the top of the trio with 75.2% of its flights arriving within 15 minutes of their schedule last month, ahead of Jetstar at 73.1% and VA at 72.1. Among the other regional operators, Hinterland was best at 92.4%, followed by SmartLynx Australia at 83.2% and Rex Airlines at 69.6%. Qantas also led the major carriers for on-time departures at 76.8% of flights pushing back from the gate within 15 minutes of their published schedule, ahead of VA (72.4%) and Jetstar (72%). Hinterland was also the best of the regional carriers for departures at 95.7%. The data for the Australian Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics is gathered from Aircraft Communication Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) and records from pilots, gate agents and/or ground crews.
