Air New Zealand lifts domestic capacity in March-October period next year

Air New Zealand (Air NZ) has added more seats on key routes across its domestic network during next year’s northern hemisphere summer scheduling season, which runs from March to October. Read More » The schedule changes include 50,000 more seats to and from Queenstown and 25,000 more seats on regional routes from Christchurch. Some routes are getting a capacity increase through upgauging flights to larger aircraft, such as Auckland-Rotorua. The Star Alliance member is also adjusting flight times to make it easier for those living in regional centres to travel to Auckland for a full day’s work, attend medical appointments or meet up with friends and family and return home the same day. "We are constantly reviewing our network to make sure we are offering the best possible schedule and capacity for Kiwi customers," Air NZ general manager for short haul and domestic, Lucy Hall, said. "These updates are all about keeping New Zealanders connected, supporting regional growth, and making it easier for people to travel for work, to visit loved ones, or to explore more of Aotearoa."
