Starlux joins A350-1000 club

Starlux Airlines has taken delivery of its first A350-1000. Read More » The aircraft, registration B-58551, touched down at Taipei Taoyuan Airport on January 5, following its ferry flight from Airbus headquarters in Toulouse. Featuring an updated livery, the widebody was greeted with a water-cannon salute upon arrival. Starlux, which is already an A350-900 operator, has ordered 18 of the larger -1000 model, which will be configured to carry 350 seats comprising four in first, 40 in business, 36 in premium economy and 270 in economy. It has also ordered 10 A350F freighters. "The delivery of our first A350-1000 marks the beginning of a new era in Starlux’s long-haul capabilities," Starlux CEO, Glenn Chai, said. "With extended range compared to the A350-900, this aircraft can reach the U.S. East Coast while delivering exceptional fuel efficiency and superior passenger comfort, allowing us to extend our signature service from Taipei to even more destinations across North America and Europe." The airline said European services were expected to start in the second half of this year.
