Cathay Pacific celebrates 80th birthday with retrojet livery

Read More » The celebration of the airline’s history is represented on A350-900 registration B-LRJ, which has been painted in Cathay’s "lettuce leaf sandwich" design from the 1980s. The oneworld alliance member will also repaint a 747F freighter with the much-remembered green-and-white-stripe paint scheme later in the year. "Cathay and Hong Kong have grown together over the past eight decades, supporting each other through thick and thin," Cathay group CEO, Ronald Lam, said. "With the continued support and encouragement of our people, customers and partners, I am confident that Cathay, as an iconic Hong Kong brand, will soar to even greater heights in the years to come." The retrojet livery is the first of several initiatives the airline is planning to commemorate its 80th birthday year.
In other Cathay news, the Bloomberg news agency reported the airline group has targeted reducing administrative costs by 20% by 2030, citing unnamed sources. The report also said Lam had asked all departments to come up with savings of 5% this year.
