Virgin Australia (VA) has re-introduced a remote checkin service at the Sydney Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT) for customers flying with the airline following the end of their cruise. Read More » The service allows passengers to receive their boarding pass and drop off any checkin luggage for their onward flight before going to the airport. The service, offered in partnership with Off Airport Check In Solutions (OACIS), will be available until the end of the current cruising season in May. VA first offered this service at the OPT in 2018. However, it was suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic. "By bringing Virgin Australia check-in to the cruise terminal, we’re able to deliver a smoother experience for cruise passengers while also helping ease congestion at Sydney Airport during our busiest travel period of the year," VA general manager product and customer strategy, Ali Dunn, said.
