Singapore Airlines announces Northern Summer 2026 schedule with increased capacity on popular routes

Singapore Airlines (SIA) said it will adjust flight frequencies and boost passenger capacity on selected routes across its global network, supporting demand for travel during the 2026 Northern Summer operating season (March 29, 2026, to October 24, 2026). Read More » From March 29, 2026, SIA will operate an additional daily service on the Singapore-Bangkok route, bringing the total to seven daily. Flights on the Singapore-Yangon route will increase to 10 times weekly from March 31, 2026, up from the current seven-times weekly. Flight services on the Singapore-Surabaya, Indonesia, will increase to 21 times weekly from March 29, 2026, up from the current 19-times weekly operations. From March 29 to April 30, 2026, SIA will operate 10 weekly services on the Singapore-Colombo route. From May 1, 2026, this will further increase to twice daily (14 weekly services). From March 29 to May 31, 2026, SIA will operate a four-times weekly supplementary service on the Singapore-Taipei route. This will increase the total number of services to Taipei to 18 times weekly. From July 7 to September 22, 2026, SIA will operate one additional weekly flight on the Singapore-Cairns route, bringing the total number of services to five-times weekly. From July 1, to September 3, 2026, SIA will delink its three-times weekly Singapore-Milan-Barcelona services. During this period, SQ388 and SQ387 will operate as a five-times weekly direct service between Singapore and Barcelona, up from the current twice-weekly service.

The Star Alliance carrier also planned aircraft upgrades on some routes. Responding to strong demand for premium cabins on the Singapore-Dubai route, SIA will deploy the Airbus A380 for the first time on this service throughout the 2026 Northern Summer operating season, switching from Boeing 777-300ER aircraft currently operating the route. From July 1, 2026, SIA will operate its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on flight services between Singapore and Amsterdam, the Netherlands, introducing SIA’s First Class cabin products on this route.
