Japan Airlines sees passenger numbers decline in January

Japan Airlines (JAL) Group transported 652,807 passengers on international routes in January 2026, 5.3% fewer than in January 2025. Read More » The demand (RPK) increased 0.8%. The capacity (ASK) increased 3.9%. The average load factor on international routes in January was 82.6%. The highest decline, 26.8%, was recorded on routes to East Asia (excluding Korea). On domestic routes, in January 2026, JAL Group transported over 2.9 million passengers, 1.7% fewer than at the same time last year. Demand (RPK) declined 1.4%, while capacity (ASK) decreased 1.7%. The passenger load factor on domestic routes in January 2026 was 76.9%.
