Emirates, Etihad resume partial operations out of UAE

United Arab Emirates (UAE) headquartered Emirates Airline and Etihad Airways have resumed partial operations out of their Dubai and Abu Dhabi hubs, respectively. Read More » However, scheduled services remain suspended amid airspace closures due to the conflict in the region. "Emirates continues to operate a limited number of passenger repatriation and freighter flights on 3 and 4 March," Emirates said. "We are accommodating customers with earlier bookings as a priority on these limited flights." Similarly, Etihad said its cargo, repositioning and repatriation flights were being flown in coordination with UAE authorities and under "strict operational and safety approvals". Both airlines urged passengers not to go to the airport unless they have received notification confirming their bookings on these limited services. "Safety remains our absolute priority, and services will operate only once all safety criteria are met," Etihad said. As of late last night (March 3), Qatar Airways flights remained suspended. The airline’s next update was due at 0900 March 4 (local time), or 1400 today Hong Kong time.
