Airlines from India and Malaysia resume limited operations to Middle East

Indian airlines have planned 58 flights on Wednesday, including 30 by IndiGo, and 23 by Air India and Air India Express. Air India deployed higher-capacity widebody aircraft on Tuesday and said it would do so again on Wednesday. A Boeing 777 with close to 350 seats departed Mumbai for Jeddah on Tuesday evening. The airline said it would operate a Boeing 787-9 with around 300 seats from Delhi to Dubai and a Boeing 787-8 with over 250 seats from Mumbai to Dubai early on Wednesday. All return sectors are expected to operate at full capacity, arriving in Mumbai and Delhi on Wednesday, the Economic Times reported. So far, 1,221 flights by Indian carriers and 388 by foreign airlines connecting destinations in India have been cancelled due to the ongoing situation, the Ministry of Civil Aviation said.
Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will temporarily resume return services to and from Jeddah, and Madinah on March 4-8, 2026, following the suspension of services from 28 February 2026 due to airspace closures in parts of the Middle East, the carrier said, adding that the service to Doha will be suspended until March 7, 2026, as the airline continues to assess the security situation.
