Latest search for MH370 ends without locating missing aircraft

A fresh search for Malaysia Airlines 777-200ER, which disappeared en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing 12 years ago, has concluded without finding the location of the aircraft. Read More » The Malaysia Ministry of Transport said the search by Ocean Infinity in the southern Indian Ocean took place in two phases - the first in March 2025 and the second between December 2025 and January 2026. "In total, 28 operational search days were undertaken across both phases following the signing of the agreement, resulting in the survey of approximately 7,571 square kilometres of seabed within the defined search area," the Ministry of Transport said yesterday (March 8). "As at the date of this update, the search activities undertaken have not yielded any findings that confirm the location of the aircraft wreckage. The government remains committed to keeping the families informed and will continue to provide updates as appropriate." It was reported at the time the contract was signed Ocean Infinity was in line to receive about US$70 million if it successfully located the 777-200ER, registration 9M-MRO, which went missing on March 8, 2014, under the terms of the no win, no fee contract.
