Hong Kong Airlines raises fuel surcharge again

Hong Kong Airlines has lifted fuel surcharges on tickets sold for the second time since the end of February. Read More » The fuel surcharge increases range from HK$5 for a flight from Hong Kong to Mainland China destinations (from HK$185 to HK$190), to HK$150 for long-haul routes such as Hong Kong to Australia, Europe and North America (from HK$589 to HK$739). "Hong Kong Airlines has reviewed and will adjust the fuel surcharge for tickets issued or re-issued from 12 March 2026," the airline said on its website. "Fuel surcharge will be reviewed and adjusted based on market conditions and fuel price fluctuation." Hong Kong Airlines last reviewed its fuel surcharge levels on February 27. The airline, like many around the world, faces an elevated fuel bill as the war in the Gulf restricted supplies of oil.
