IndiGo celebrates women pilots milestone

"We are proud to announce that IndiGo now has over 1,000 women pilots, among the highest in the world," IndiGo group chief human resources officer, Sukhjit Singh Pasricha, said. "As we continue to give wings to the nation, we remain committed to creating more opportunities for talented women to soar and shape the future of aviation." A 2025 survey by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) showed, on average, 6.2% of all flight deck personnel employed were women. Female representation in the flight deck was highest in Europe at about 7%, while it was lowest in Africa and the Middle East at about 4%. Beyond its pilots, IndiGo said women represented about 45% of all employees. The figure was 30% for airport operations staff, 25% for operations control centre staff, 20% for finance roles and 23% in leadership positions across the company.
