Read More » The new route, to be flown with four-class 787-9 equipment, will join the oneworld alliance member’s existing daily Heathrow-Singapore-Sydney service. BA last served Melbourne two decades ago. The U.K. flag carrier is also starting seasonal nonstop London Gatwick-Colombo flights, with the three times weekly offering to operate during the northern hemisphere winter scheduling season from the end of October to end of March 2027. These new services are in addition to frequency increases on a number of Asia-Pacific routes, including boosting Heathrow-Tokyo Haneda to double daily from 10 times weekly and maintaining three flights a day to Delhi through the winter season. "We’re delighted to announce sizeable growth to our flying schedule for winter 2026, including two notable new destinations that I’m confident will prove popular with our customers," BA chief planning and strategy officer, Neil Chernoff, said. "These changes represent a significant investment in our long-haul leisure network, adding even more options and choice for our customers." In the more immediate term, BA has also added more flights to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and Singapore in response to the Israel and U.S.-led war against Iran.
