Read More » The passenger numbers were boosted as the Lunar New Year fell in February this year, compared with January in 2025. Over the first two months of 2026, passenger numbers were 11.6% higher year-on-year at 10.9 million, Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) said. "The combined growth of passenger volume in January and February was mainly driven by the 30% year-on-year growth in transfer/transit passenger traffic," AAHK said. "During the period, traffic to and from the Chinese Mainland and Southeast Asia contributed the most to the growth in passenger traffic." The number of flight movements through January and February was up 6.2% at 66,545, while cargo volumes had risen 8.2% to 776,000 tonnes. "Among the key trading regions, cargo throughput to and from Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle East showed the most significant increase," AAHK said.
