Singapore Changi reports 17.6 million passengers for Q1
April 21st 2026
The number of air travellers at Changi Airport rose 2.3% to 17.6 million during the three months to March 31 2026, from 17.2 million in the same three-month period last year. Read More » Changi Airport Group (CAG) said the passenger growth was underpinned by strong demand on Europe and North Asia routes, which helped offset the 80% drop in passenger traffic between Singapore and the Gulf region during the quarter. The top five markets from Changi in the quarter were China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia and India. CAG noted airlines added about 90 flights from Singapore to destinations across Australia, Europe and elsewhere during March, when flights to the Gulf hubs were being cancelled due to the conflict in the region. "While there was some impact from the Middle East crisis, we were resilient and worked closely with our airline partners in response to evolving passenger demand and shifts in travel patterns," CAG executive vice president for air hub and cargo development, Lim Ching Kiat, said. "We will continue to monitor the global geopolitical situation and work with airlines to provide passengers with alternatives across our diversified network," Lim said.
