AirAsia Philippines given three days to pay unpaid fees to avoid being shut out of government-run airports: Reports

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has given AirAsia Philippines until June 6 to repay debts totalling about 271.9 million peso (US$4 million) or face being banned from operating out of government-run airports. Read More » The debts related to unpaid air navigation costs, airport usage fees and passenger service charges over the five years to May 2026, local media reported, citing correspondence from the regulator to the airline. CAAP director-general, Raul del Rosario, said AirAsia Philippines had failed to pay its debt obligations despite repeated collection efforts. CAAP operates 44 of the Philippines’ 48 airports. Should the ban come into effect, the LCC will be restricted to flying out of four airports not managed by the CAAP - Catalan Airport, Clark International Airport, Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport and Mactan-Cebu International Airport. AirAsia Philippines told local media the airline remained fully operational, with flights continuing to operate as normal.
